School Workbook Edition
We live in a world where technology is integrated into our daily lives. We are spending more and more time using the internet for work, education and socialising. Being part of this cyber world is no longer a luxury, but a necessity for many cyber users. As part of the cyber generation, however, it is important that all cyber users protect themselves and their personal information. All cyber users should therefore understand possible cyber threats involved when using cyber devises, for example PCs and mobile phones. This Cyber Security Awareness Workbook was created to provide school learners and educators with essential information on cyber security issues they should be aware of when using the internet or their mobile phones.
It is very important to read this background information before teaching your learners. With this Educators’ Workbook, we intend to equip educators and learners with the knowledge to challenge cyber-bullying issues that we are faced with today. This book provides learners with a series of learner activities and lessons that teach them the importance of cyber-bullying and the impact this has on their lives. It is through creating awareness and understanding amongst our youth that these challenges can be effectively dealt with and managed. The Educators’ Workbook has been developed to provide lessons that support the Life Orientation topic of recognising and dealing with cyber-bullying in Grade 4 and the Life Orientation topic of explaining and resolving cyber-bullying topics in Grade 6. The Learner Activities in the workbook are based on the CAPS curriculum and are grade-specific. The Educators’ Guides will direct you through individual lesson plans based on the workbook activities.
